OVERVIEW

The Bio-Informatics focus area concentrates on developing techniques that use computational intelligence to solve highly complex biological problems.

Application areas currently under investigation include protein and RNA structure computation, genome sequence alignment, as well as clustering methods for protein and DNA sequences.

 Title:

 RNA Secondary structure prediction

 Abstract:

The secondary structure of RNA is a planar view of the connections between nucleotide base pairs. Every RNA molecule has a native conformation (folding) in which it exist. The structure of a molecule determines the function. An attempt is made at trying to predict the secondary structure of a molecule (and ultimately the 3D spatial structure) from a nucleotide sequence, using computational methods.
